This work takes us on a guided tour of the Gouffre de Padirac, an underground spectacle that is unique in the world. Edouard-Alfred Martel (1859-1938) was the inventor of modern speleology, and his life resembles a Jules Verne novel. In 1889, he was the first to explore what would be his greatest work. He began the incredible underground adventure of Padirac, one of the most visited tourist sites in France. A descent to 103 metres below the surface leads to an underground river 20 km long and over 40 km of explored galleries. Of that, you will cover 1.1 km and discover a striking natural heritage.
