The illustration on this medal is the Puits de Padirac, a natural cavity that is 33 metres in diameter and 75 metres deep and that is considered as a major geological curiosity, as well as of the Lac de Pluie, above which there appears the Grande Pendeloque, a majestic, striking stalactite 60 metres high.
